
ABOUT
Heather recently completed her master’s degree in Violin Performance at UNC Greensboro, where she studied with Marjorie Bagley. She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, with concentrations in both violin performance and string music education.
While living in the Greensboro area, she performed with multiple ensembles in and around the Triad, including the Greensboro Symphony, Greensboro Opera, and Fayetteville Symphony orchestras. Heather held the position of Principal Second Violin with the Western Piedmont Symphony, and she recently won the Assistant Concertmaster position with the Asheville Symphony.
Heather was a string instructor for several years with the GCS Lyceum Professional Teaching Artist Program where she teaches private and group violin lessons. She maintained an active private studio in Greensboro since 2019. In December of 2018, she received her TX EC-12 All-Level Music Teacher Certification, and for the Fall 2018 semester she was a recipient of the TMEA Student Teaching Scholarship. She was also a founding member of the student ASTA chapter at Texas Tech University.
Heather was invited to participate in the 2021 Round Top Summer Festival Institute where she spent six weeks rehearsing and performing orchestral and chamber works with other young professional musicians. During the festival, she participated regularly in masterclasses, lessons, and chamber coachings with renowned violinists Tomás Cotik, Elisabeth Adkins, Joan Kwuon, and violists Susan Dubois and Brett Deubner.
Most recently, Heather successfully won a fellowship position with The Orchestra Now, a graduate-level training orchestra program at Bard College. After moving to the Hudson Valley in 2022, she is currently finishing the first year of her two-year artist diploma degree.
